Plane of Torment

Plane of Torment is a story-gated progression zone. It starts with Argan Milek at the entrance, moves through the avatar and Screaming Sphere chain, unlocks the four tormentor bosses, then uses Tylis Newleaf to reach The Keeper of Sorrows and Saryrn.

Several NPCs in this zone share the same visible names but serve different steps. For players, the important part is the order: Argan starts the chain, returned Argan unlocks the tormentors, Tylis sends you into Keeper, and the final Tylis step unlocks Saryrn.

Start With Argan Milek

Hail Argan Milek near the entrance and follow his suffering dialogue. Choose to save what is left of his memories. This sends you down into the memory step and starts your personal Torment progression.

Kill A Horrifying Vision. After it dies, Argan returns in the lower area. Hail him again and follow his information dialogue. When you tell him you are ready, he sends you back and records that you have completed the first Argan memory step.

Argan then points you toward the avatars and the key to Saryrn's tower.

Avatars And The Screaming Sphere

The next layer is the four avatar bosses. Each avatar drops one required orb:

The Avatar of Agony drops Orb of Agony.
The Avatar of Anguish drops Orb of Anguish.
The Avatar of Pain drops Orb of Pain.
The Avatar of Suffering drops Orb of Suffering.

Combine all four orbs in Mouths of Baraguj Szuul to make Screaming Sphere.

The avatars can also drop Painful Memories pieces, Rifts, and named torment fragments:

Baraguj Szuul

Baraguj Szuul is tied to the Mouths/Screaming Sphere layer. When the Baraguj fight starts, nearby players are pulled into the inner horror area. Fight through the stomach event and kill the horror inside; the event returns you and spawns the real Baraguj step.

Baraguj is part of proving you can carry the Screaming Sphere forward. Keep the sphere, because Argan and Tylis both use it later.

Empower The Screaming Sphere

Return Screaming Sphere to Argan Milek. He returns it and marks your key step complete. This is what lets the four tormentor bosses become vulnerable.

If you attack the tormentors before Argan has empowered your Screaming Sphere, their shield rejects your damage.

The Four Tormentors

After Argan empowers the sphere, kill the four tormentor bosses. Each one drops a shattered vision piece for the next combine, plus its own notable rewards.

The Acolyte of Affliction

The Acolyte of Affliction spawns construct adds during combat. Stay on top of the adds so the fight does not get sloppy.

Maareq the Prophet

Maareq calls minions during the fight. If enough minions reach him, his script escalates the encounter and his attacks become much more dangerous. Kill the minions quickly instead of tunneling the boss.

When Maareq dies, Tylis Newleaf can appear for the next route step.

Salczek the Fleshgrinder

Salczek is a pressure boss with timed reset handling and ramping punishment as the fight moves lower. Keep the fight controlled and do not let the encounter drift.

Ta'Grusch the Abomination

Ta'Grusch is the fourth tormentor. Like the others, he requires Argan's empowered sphere step before he can be damaged.

All four tormentors can also drop Sufferable Hearts, Rifts, and vowel-style fragments used in the broader Torment reward ecosystem.

Tylis Newleaf And The Keeper

Hand Screaming Sphere to Tylis Newleaf. He returns the sphere and asks you to say you are ready. When you say ready, nearby group or raid members are moved into The Keeper of Sorrows event and receive the temporary Keeper access state for that attempt.

The Keeper of Sorrows is invulnerable until that Tylis step is active. If you attack without the Tylis Keeper state, a barrier repels you.

After The Keeper dies, combine all five vision pieces in Tier Upgrade Kit to make Shattered Visions of Torment.

Combine:

Hand Shattered Visions of Torment to Tylis Newleaf. This records the final Saryrn unlock. Saryrn will reject attacks until someone present has completed this step.

Saryrn

Saryrn is the capstone of Plane of Torment. She starts invulnerable and checks for the final Tylis/Shattered Visions completion. Once that requirement is satisfied, she becomes vulnerable.

At 98%, she signals Sorrowsong and begins the sound-pressure part of the encounter. Sorrowsong repeatedly casts Sorrow Song as it moves. At 25%, the attackable Sorrowsong manifestation appears. Treat the bird/song pressure as part of the Saryrn fight, not scenery.

Saryrn also spawns servants at multiple health thresholds through the fight, so expect waves of pressure as she drops.

Saryrn has a reflected check at low health. Bring Eclipsed Midnight Mirror of Torment if you are continuing the reflected progression chain.

Welcome to Level 64 has a global click script. It is used by level 63 characters, raises eligible same-IP group or raid members to level 64, and grants Plane of Time access. Key to The Plane of Time also has a global click script that grants Plane of Time access to the clicker or same-IP group/raid members, then consumes the key.

Reflected Torment

The reflected Torment mirror is made in Tier Upgrade Kit.

Combine:

This creates Eclipsed Midnight Mirror of Torment.

Saryrn's reflected reward pool includes:

The Coven Excruciator also carries reflected behavior. It can add reflected rewards such as Reflected Pebble Crusher, Shield of Reflected Holy Vigor, or Shield of Reflected Auras.

Torment Essence Chest

Regular trash kills build Torment essence progress. At 1000 Torment essence updates, a Torment essence chest appears.

The chest can drop Torment recipe pieces, mirrored accessories, bot non-visible gear, polymorph items, Tormented Essence, Girdle of Intense Reflected Durability, Reflected Gemstone of the Planes, and Symbol of the Planemasters.

Practical Route

Hail Argan Milek at the entrance and choose to save his memories.
Kill A Horrifying Vision.
Hail the returned Argan and finish his dialogue.
Kill the four avatars and combine their orbs in Mouths of Baraguj Szuul for Screaming Sphere.
Work through Baraguj Szuul.
Hand Screaming Sphere to Argan to empower it.
Kill the four tormentors and collect their shattered visions.
Hand Screaming Sphere to Tylis, say ready, and kill The Keeper of Sorrows.
Combine all five shattered visions into Shattered Visions of Torment.
Hand Shattered Visions of Torment to Tylis.
Kill Saryrn and watch Sorrowsong.
