Crypt of Decay Guide
Crypt of Decay is unlocked from Plane of Disease and continues the Chapter 1 PoP mirror path. The parent scripts cover Bertoxxulous, Banord Paffa, the COD trigger, Barban Cryptwalker, Tarkil Adan, the Planar Projection, and the custom zone default behavior.
How The Zone Plays
The default script upgrades general crypt mobs with the same custom scaling approach used in Plane of Disease. Bosses gain life-drain pressure and health-event reset handling. Expect the zone to feel like a raid crawl rather than a stock undead farm.
The unlock loop is simple: come in with Disease access, push through the crypt event scripts, kill Bertoxxulous, then use the Planar Projection for the next step when it appears.
Scripted Encounters
Bertoxxulous is the capstone. His script is built like Grummus: raid scaling, reset checks, and a low-health reflected transformation check. If someone has the correct mirror and required state, the corpse can gain reflected rewards. Bertoxxulous can drop Diseased Artifact, Coalesced Essence of Decay, Runestone of Decay, Mirrorbound Aegis, Shard of Blightwoven Reflection, Timelost pieces, Blighted runes, and a wide set of PoP bracer rewards.
Overlord Banord Paffa is a custom named in the crypt route. Treat him as part of the progression layer, not just a side spawn.
Tarkil Adan grants the Crypt preflag through dialogue and then depops on a timer, so do not ignore him if you are working access.
Barban Cryptwalker and the numbered controller scripts handle additional custom crypt interactions and spawned event behavior.
Reflected Progression
Bertoxxulous uses the same Chapter 1 reflected check family as Grummus. Keep Decaying Mirror of Eclipsed Midnight with you. The mirror comes from Eclipsed Mirror of Midnight, Fragmented Mirror of Decay, and Shard of Eclipsed Reflection in a Tier Upgrade Kit.

Practical Route
Handle Tarkil and the named crypt scripts first, then push Bertoxxulous with the Decaying Mirror ready. After the kill, use the projection path to continue PoP progression.
