Western Wastes Guide
Western Wastes is the dragon-heavy bridge into Dragon Necropolis. The active custom work is a dragon arena/event controller, the Dragon Trinket hand-in, the Claws of Veeshan rune quests, the Dragon Sage route, and several old epic hooks.
Dragon Trinket Event
NPC 1527 is the main custom event NPC. It accepts:
- Four Dragon Trinket - enables the dragon event path.
After the correct hand-in, hailing the NPC can spawn a random dragon at the arena point. The script uses a 90 second `dragon_arena_event` timer.
The zone controller listens for dragon death signals. It spawns a wave of random dragons, then eventually a boss dragon. Many Western Wastes dragon scripts share a simple pattern: HP event logic plus a death signal back to controller 10.
Dragon Drops And Collectors Box
Common wyverns and drakes drop:
The item lore says to place 10 Insignias of the Dragon in the Collector's Box and combine.
Named dragons commonly drop:
- Dragon Crunchies
- Glob of Gooey Goo - lore notes that 9 are used to strengthen an augment.
- Dragon Trinket - hand four to the disturbance/event NPC.
- Mirrored Mask of the Dragonslayers
- Mirrored Veil of Veeshan's Wings
Sontalak has a higher Dragon Trinket and mirrored item chance than most other dragons in the table.
Claws Of Veeshan Rune NPCs
Several dragon NPCs use Jualicn's Token as proof that you are trusted:
- Derasinal returns Rune of Bleve.
- Draazak returns Rune of Concentration.
- Entariz returns Rune of Eradication.
- Ionat returns Rune of Revenge.
They return Jualicn's Token after the rune hand-in, so keep it moving through the chain.
Dragon Sage And Porlos' Fury
The Dragon Sage explains the ancient dragonbane herb path:
- Say through the danger/observations/plant dialogue to receive Giant Loyalist Token.
- Tomekeeper Bjordnessin in Wakening accepts that token and returns Giant Scalebound Tome.
- Returning the tome to the Dragon Sage gives Ornate Reagent Box.
- Hand back Sealed Reagent Box to receive Porlos' Fury.
Other Western Wastes Scripts
- Scout Charisa accepts Scout Tools, spawns a Kromzek Captain, then processes Broken Disk into Scout Report and reward cycling between Robe, Bracer, and Talisman of Benevolence.
- Breezeboot Swordrattler accepts lumber/rope/sail repair materials and rewards Breezeboot's Frigid Gnasher.
- Harla Dar accepts [1] and rewards Shroud of the Dar Brood.
- Melalafen accepts Prismatic Dragon Scale and Sleeper's Key, then cycles reward essences: Lens, Mace, Blade, Pearl, and Ring.
Practical Route
Farm dragons for Dragon Trinkets, Glob of Gooey Goo, and mirrored items. Use four Dragon Trinkets to access the event NPC. Keep Jualicn's Token for the rune NPCs, and keep Dragon Sage/Tomekeeper items together; that route ends in Porlos' Fury.
