Neriak Foreign Quarter Commons Third Gate
Neriak FQ / Commons / Third Gate Guide
The Luclin path starts in the three Neriak city sections. These zones use the parent quest folders for their live behavior: upgraded city mobs, stronger named bosses, a roaming Teir`dal chest, and the head/essence drops that feed the early Luclin progression.
Zone Flow
Work the three sections in order:
- Neriak Foreign Quarter: The Gobbler, X`Ta Tempi, and Oosa Shadowthumper.
- Neriak Commons: Jarrex N`Ryt, Vorshar the Despised, and Gath N`Mare.
- Neriak Third Gate: Talorial D`Estalian, Nallar Q`Tentu, and Selzar L`Crit.
Each named drops a head for the 10 Heads are Better Than 1 progression and an essence tied to its city section. Foreign Quarter drops Essence of Neriak A, Commons drops Essence of Neriak B, and Third Gate drops Essence of Neriak C.
Parent Script Mechanics
The parent scripts retune almost everything in these zones. Normal enemies are still dangerous, and named bosses are treated as Luclin bosses with high health, high resists, fast attack timing, tracking, see invis, and strong special abilities.
Named bosses have two key mechanics:
- At half health they call nearby allies onto their top hate target unless Mark of Silence is active.
- While in combat they pulse a short-range life drain every few seconds, damaging nearby players and bots.
The practical result is simple: fight named away from extra mobs where possible, and do not stack loosely around them unless you are ready for repeated drain damage.
Tome of Silence
The Neriak book pieces are one of the most important Luclin pickups. The finished Tome of Silence clicks Mark of Silence onto the target. Luclin mini bosses and bosses check for that Mark of Silence buff before they do their half-health help call. If the mark is active, the script skips the assist pull instead of dragging nearby mobs within roughly 300 range onto the boss's top hate target.
Make this early and keep using it. The help-call check appears throughout the Luclin route after Neriak, including Shadeweaver, Paludal, Echo, The Deep, Maiden's Eye, Akheva, Grimling, Scarlet, Ssra, and other later Luclin scripts.
Recipe:
- Combine Multiple Chapters of a Book, Multiple Chapters of a Book, and Multiple Chapters of a Book in Tier Upgrade Kit.
- The combine is no-fail and returns Tome of Silence.
- All three chapter pieces drop from the Neriak named pool.
Teir`dal Chest
The Teir`dal chest is the roaming extra reward target. In each city section it shouts "Catch me if you can!" when it spawns, then respawns on a long timer after death.
The chest always carries at least one matching essence for its section, with additional chances for more essence. It can also rarely carry Umbral Aegis of Resonant Light.
Named Drops
The three Neriak sections share several chase drops:
- Don't touch me there! - click effect is Ancient: Greater Concussion, an aggro reduction click.
- Moonlit Embrace - a shield with an Anger click and Echo of Anger worn effect.
- Umbral Aegis of Resonant Light - a Luclin-only shield click with Lunar Balance.
- Multiple Chapters of a Book, Multiple Chapters of a Book, and Multiple Chapters of a Book - the three Tome of Silence combine pieces.
Foreign Quarter named:
- The Gobbler drops Head of The Gobbler and Essence of Neriak A.
- X`Ta Tempi drops Head of X`Ta Tempi and Essence of Neriak A.
- Oosa Shadowthumper drops Head of Oosa Shadowthumper and Essence of Neriak A.
Commons named:
- Jarrex N`Ryt drops Head of Jarrex N`Ryt and Essence of Neriak B.
- Vorshar the Despised drops Head of Vorshar the Despised and Essence of Neriak B.
- Gath N`Mare drops Head of Gath N`Mare, Essence of Neriak B, and can drop Rogue's Mastery of Backstabbing.
Third Gate named:
- Talorial D`Estalian drops Head of Talorial D`Estalian and Essence of Neriak C.
- Nallar Q`Tentu drops Head of Nallar Q`Tentu and Essence of Neriak C.
- Selzar L`Crit drops Head of Selzar L`Crit and Essence of Neriak C.
Practical Route
Kill the three named in each Neriak section, save every head, and keep the A, B, and C essences. Also keep all three chapter drops until you have made Tome of Silence; it is the tool that stops later Luclin bosses from calling nearby adds. Check for the Teir`dal chest while moving through each section because it is an extra source of essences and can drop the Luclin shield. Once the heads and essences are handled through the progression combine/turn-in, the path opens toward Shadeweaver Thicket.
