Cobalt Scar Guide

Cobalt Scar is a short Velious transition zone with one major parent-folder raid target, a Siren's Grotto access hint NPC, and standard Shadowed Eclipse Velious scaling. This page only covers scripts in the parent `quests\cobaltscar` folder and the drops tied to those scripted NPCs.

Zone Tuning

The root default script applies Shadowed Eclipse Velious tuning to Cobalt Scar. Boss-style targets are tuned much heavier than normal mobs, while standard enemies use lower Velious scaling. Expect fast movement, see-invis behavior, assists, mitigation, and raid scaling where applicable.

Elondra Aradune

Elondra Aradune is the parent-folder information NPC. Hailing her explains that Siren's Grotto is sealed and points players toward the access components:

  • Siren scales.
  • Othmir short beers.
  • Pristine wyvern hides.
  • Impression items from siren, wyvern, othmir, and sea beast leadership.
  • A suitable 10-slot container for the combine.

This is an access clue for Siren's Grotto progression, not a local Cobalt Scar reward chain.

Tiknonmanin

Tiknonmanin is the main Cobalt Scar parent-folder encounter and should be treated as an optional raid target. The zone controller spawns Tiknonmanin, and the script announces his arrival across the zone. He is the large target flying around the sky area, so reaching and positioning on him is part of the practical challenge.

Tiknonmanin is tuned as a raid-scaled boss with very high health, heavy melee, high mitigation, broad resists, see-invis behavior, and strong movement. Out of combat he keeps Nimbus of Frost active. Once engaged, he stops idle buff upkeep and spawns waves of blizzard bits every 30 seconds. If left unengaged too long, he despawns and signals the controller.

Tiknonmanin can drop:

Each of those listed Tiknonmanin drops is on his loot table as a guaranteed drop.

Reaching The Sky Target

Tiknonmanin is much easier to reach with Elphaba's Nimbus 2000. That broom comes from the Season of the Witch vinyl path:

The broom is not required by the Cobalt Scar script, but it makes vertical movement and sky positioning far less annoying. If you are trying to engage Tiknonmanin without it, expect the approach to be the hardest part of the encounter.

Blizzard Bits

Blizzard bits are temporary adds from Tiknonmanin's combat loop. They are there to punish slow kills and sloppy positioning. Keep them controlled while maintaining pressure on Tiknonmanin.

Practical Route

Use Cobalt Scar as the staging point for Siren's Grotto access information and Tiknonmanin attempts. Talk to Elondra if you need the Siren's Grotto component reminder. For Tiknonmanin, bring the group prepared for an optional raid target, use Elphaba's Nimbus 2000 if available, control blizzard bits, and loot the iced earring pieces from the kill.
