Plane of Growth Guide

Plane of Growth is a scripted Velious trial zone built around the corrupted Tunare encounter. The zone is not a long crawl: the action is concentrated around the entry area, the totem, timed waves, elite spawns, and the final Tunare fight.

Access

Plane of Growth access comes from the Key to Plane of Growth.

The key drops from Bellatrix Lestrange in Tower of Frozen Shadows. Bellatrix is part of the final Tower of Frozen Shadows sequence: the earlier form reaches half health, despawns, and brings in Bellatrix with helpers. Bellatrix drops the Plane of Growth key at 100%.

Right-click the key from a normal inventory slot, not from inside a bag. The key script grants the Plane of Growth zone flag to the player. If you are grouped or raided, it also flags same-IP group or raid members and then consumes the key.

Zone Rules

When you zone in, the script moves you to the Plane of Growth staging area. A zone check runs every few seconds and keeps players within roughly a 400-foot radius. If you move too far from the start point, the zone teleports you back with a warning.

The practical result is simple: this is an arena-style trial in Plane of Growth, not a full-zone exploration page.

Starting The Trial

At the start you will find A Totem. Hail the totem for the setup text.

Say READY when your group is prepared. The totem depops and signals the zone controller. The zone announces that Tunare is aware of your presence and begins the trial.

The trial script then works in stages:

  • Regular minions spawn first.
  • After the minion phase, elite Tunare mobs begin spawning.
  • After four elite spawns, the fake Tunare appears.
  • Killing the fake Tunare spawns the real Tunare encounter.

Trial Flow

The controller starts by spawning waves of minions near the totem area. These are the main trash pressure in the event. The script has a pool of minion NPCs and spawns them repeatedly at the trial location.

After the regular wave count is finished, the script switches to elite spawns. Four random Elite of Tunare NPCs are chosen from the elite pool. These are stronger than the minions and carry the important Heart of Growth loot table.

Once the four elite spawns are complete, the controller spawns # Tunare. This is a false Tunare. Kill it to force the real Tunare to appear.

Tunare

The real Tunare is listed as Tunare, Coven of the Shadowed Eclipse. She is the actual boss of Plane of Growth and has a much larger health pool than the fake Tunare.

During combat, Tunare starts a minion timer and repeatedly spawns two tunarian brambles near herself.

Important mechanic: the brambles signal Tunare when they die, and that signal heals Tunare for 15%. Do not treat the brambles like normal free-cleave adds unless your group can overpower the healing. Control them, drag them, or kill them only when you are ready to absorb the heal.

Totem Skip

Tunare can drop A Head of the Class.

Hand this item to A Totem. The script sets a character flag that allows that character to say TUNARE to the totem on later visits. Once flagged, you can use the totem to jump straight to the real Tunare fight instead of running the full wave trial again.

This is per character. Do the full trial once, get the item, turn it in, and future runs can skip directly to Tunare on that character.

Notable Drops

Access and Tower lead-in:

Minions:

  • Minions can drop AA lesson pages, including Felix Fortuna of the Arcane, Combat Agility Rank 5, and Planar Power pages.
  • Minions also carry common gem drops such as Jacinth, Sapphire Necklace, Blue Diamond, Ruby, Diamond, and similar jewel loot.

Quest NPCs And Scripted Rewards

The Plane of Growth quest folder also contains the old Tunarean quest NPCs. These are separate from the custom arena trial but still worth documenting because they explain several item turn-ins.

Ancient Totem asks for Dragon Necropolis scrolls. Hand in [1], [2], [3], and [4] to receive Visage of Life.

a gleaming sphere of light asks for the mind-control tome pieces. Hand in [5], [6], [7], and [8] to receive Wreath of Nature.

a mosscovered treant asks for Arch-Mage summoning research. Hand in [9], [10], [11], and [12] to receive Chord of Vines.

Guardian of Takish has two Paladin-style hand-ins:

Tunarean Earthmelder has two Ranger/Druid-style hand-ins:

Several older POG NPCs also have signal-based scripts. These are mostly classic encounter support: protectors, treants, spirits, thiflings, unicorns, wolves, pumas, and named court NPCs react to controller signals or timers. The custom Shadowed Eclipse arena trial remains the primary progression path, but the quest hand-ins above are real script-backed rewards.

Practical Notes

Bring enough control to handle repeated spawns near the trial area. The event compresses the zone into one fight space, so bad add handling stacks up quickly.

If you are farming the zone for Tunare rewards, prioritize getting A Head of the Class turned in to the totem. That changes later runs from a full wave event into a direct Tunare attempt.

Watch the brambles. Killing them heals Tunare, so the final fight is not just a burn check; it punishes careless area damage.
