The Deep Upside Down is the version 1 expedition of The Deep. It is reached through [https://shadowedeclipse.com/?a=item&id=39622 A Syrupy Ego Waffle], which summons Eleven. Eleven can create the The Deep Upside Down dynamic zone, then move the group in when you say you are ready.
The Deep Upside Down is version 1 of The Deep. This is the Stranger Things themed pressure route: Eleven opens the dynamic zone, Sel Rheza narrates the opening test, moving blights hunt the group, Sheriff Hopper accepts the four keepsakes, and Thought Horror Overfiend uses Demogorgon phases and timed engagement checks.

This is the pressure version of The Deep. The normal zone crawl is replaced by Sel`Rheza's opening test, moving blights, a rotating mini-boss controller, and the Thought Horror Overfiend finale.

Sel`Rheza, The Lunar Oracle appears only in The Deep Upside Down. Entering the version 1 expedition signals her script and starts the narrated test.
When a player enters version 1, the player script signals the zone controller. The controller spawns Sel Rheza, The Lunar Oracle, who opens with the scripted Nyseria/Sel Rheza pressure text and then releases three moving blights.

After the opening sequence, three creeping blight encounters become active. They are mobile threats, not static named:
The first blight uses a periodic spell while hunting. The other blights hunt players by repeatedly choosing a non-GM player and moving to that player's location. Killing each blight signals Sel Rheza's controller and can cause the next blight step to spawn.

* They repeatedly hunt non-GM players around the zone.
Stay together. The opening is not a normal static clear; it is a moving pressure check.
* One keeps reapplying its spell to the last client it engaged.
* Killing each one signals Sel`Rheza's sequence forward.

Stay together during this opener. The blights can drag fights into awkward terrain if players split up or sit idle.

== Zigzag Mini-Boss Route ==
The version 1 zone controller keeps a pool of four mini-bosses:

The zone controller runs a rotating mini-boss route. Every few seconds it picks one remaining mini-boss and one of several spawn points. Once players engage that mini-boss, the rotation stops until it dies.

The mini-boss pool is:

* Chasm Overseer
* Chasm Overseer
Line 34: Line 27:
* Slavekeeper Xiox
* Slavekeeper Xiox

When a mini-boss dies, it is removed from the pool and the controller begins rotating the next remaining mini-boss. When all four are cleared, Thought Horror Overfiend spawns as the final fight.
Every few seconds, if no mini is engaged, the controller picks one remaining mini and one of several spawn points. The previous unengaged mini can despawn when the controller rotates. Once a mini is engaged, rotation stops until that mini dies.

The mini-bosses can also split at half health. When that happens, they spawn Demodog adds and depop, so be ready for the fight to suddenly turn into add control.
Each mini signals the controller when it dies. The dead mini is removed from the active pool. When all four are dead, Thought Horror Overfiend spawns as the finale.

Each of these minis can also split into Demodogs when engaged or killed, depending on the script path. Treat the Demodogs as part of the encounter, not random trash.

Thought Horror Overfiend is the final fight of the upside-down route.
Thought Horror Overfiend is the Fiend-King finale of The Deep Upside Down. The fight has several scripted gates.

Key mechanics:
At spawn, Overfiend starts melee immune and starts the balance monitor. Shortly after combat begins, it checks for at least two real player attackers. If that check fails, it depops.

* The fight requires at least two real player attackers shortly after combat starts. If that check fails, the Overfiend depops.
At 85%, Overfiend becomes melee-vulnerable and spawns Demogorgon as a mirrored host beside it. The host copies Overfiend's current health. During this phase, keep Overfiend and Demogorgon close in health. If their health percentages drift more than about 14 points apart, the balance fails and both retreat.
* At high health it creates Demogorgon as a mirrored host. Keep the Overfiend and host close in health. If their health spread gets too wide, the balance fails and the event retreats.

* At the next threshold the host is removed and the Overfiend continues.
At 50%, the mirrored host despawns and Overfiend continues toward the vessel phase.
* During the vessel phase, the Overfiend becomes protected, roots nearby players, and spawns Demogorgon as the vessel. The group has only a short engage window.

* If the vessel is not engaged in time, the room is punished.
At 45%, Overfiend wipes hate, becomes protected, clears buffs and regen, roots players within about 100 range, and spawns Demogorgon at the far vessel point. This is the part that was missing from the old walkthrough: the group has only about 20 seconds to get to that Demogorgon and engage it. If no one engages the vessel in time, the vessel despawns and the room is punished.
* Killing the vessel unlocks the Overfiend again, but spell damage remains blocked until the next phase.

* Later phases add creeping blight adds.
When Demogorgon dies, it signals Overfiend to unlock. Overfiend becomes attackable again, but spell damage remains blocked until the next phase.
* The final chase/burn has a timer. If the group takes too long, the Overfiend retreats and the event must be restarted.

* If combat drops for too long during the fight, the Overfiend vanishes unchallenged.
At 20%, spell damage opens again and creeping blight adds begin spawning. At 10%, the add pressure increases.

At 2%, Overfiend moves to the vessel point, wipes hate, blocks spell damage during setup, and starts the final chase timer. You have roughly 2 minutes and 25 seconds to reach and engage it. Once engaged, it unlocks and shouts that you have 2 minutes to face oblivion. If the group takes too long before re-engaging, Overfiend retreats and the event must be restarted.

If combat drops for too long during the fight, Overfiend also vanishes unchallenged.

For Overfiend, assign damage carefully during the 85% balance phase, be ready to move immediately at the 45% Demogorgon vessel spawn, and save mobility/cooldowns for the 2% final chase. The fight is less about raw damage and more about responding to the timers without letting the encounter reset.

Use the waffle to create the version 1 expedition, stay together for Sel`Rheza's moving blights, handle one zigzag mini-boss at a time, and save cooldowns for Overfiend's balance, vessel, and final burn phases.

The Deep Upside Down Guide

The Deep Upside Down is version 1 of The Deep. This is the Stranger Things themed pressure route: Eleven opens the dynamic zone, Sel Rheza narrates the opening test, moving blights hunt the group, Sheriff Hopper accepts the four keepsakes, and Thought Horror Overfiend uses Demogorgon phases and timed engagement checks.

Access

Click A Syrupy Ego Waffle while out of combat. The item summons Eleven at your location. Hail Eleven, ask for the zone list, choose The Deep Upside Down, then say ready after the expedition is created.

The expedition is a version 1 dynamic zone for up to twelve players and lasts six hours.

Opening: Sel Rheza And The Moving Blights

When a player enters version 1, the player script signals the zone controller. The controller spawns Sel Rheza, The Lunar Oracle, who opens with the scripted Nyseria/Sel Rheza pressure text and then releases three moving blights.

The first blight uses a periodic spell while hunting. The other blights hunt players by repeatedly choosing a non-GM player and moving to that player's location. Killing each blight signals Sel Rheza's controller and can cause the next blight step to spawn.

Stay together. The opening is not a normal static clear; it is a moving pressure check.

Rotating Mini-Boss Route

The version 1 zone controller keeps a pool of four mini-bosses:

  • Chasm Overseer
  • Thought Horror Corrupter
  • Xeximoz
  • Slavekeeper Xiox

Every few seconds, if no mini is engaged, the controller picks one remaining mini and one of several spawn points. The previous unengaged mini can despawn when the controller rotates. Once a mini is engaged, rotation stops until that mini dies.

Mini-Boss Drops

The version 1 minis use the Deep named loot pool and can drop the same four keepsakes needed for Sheriff Hopper:

They can also drop Upside Down Lunar Moonlight, clicky/chase items from the shared Deep table, gems, skill shards, and Soul Devouring Armament.

Because the parent script adds Upside Down Lunar Moonlight in version 1, this route is one of the main places to farm the reflected moonlight upgrade thread. Four Lunar Moonlights combine in a Tier Upgrade Kit to make Upside Down Lunar Moonlight Rk2.

Sheriff Hopper

Sheriff Hopper is a version 1 NPC. He is not part of the regular open-world Deep spawn set.

Hand Sheriff Hopper all four keepsakes: Spiked Bat, A Yellow Shirt, D and D Figurine, and Home CB Radio. If the Overfiend is not already up, the hand-in spawns Thought Horror Overfiend and flags that character so later hails can summon the Overfiend again after cooldown. The first hand-in cooldown is longer; later hail summons use a shorter cooldown if the character has already earned the flag.

If the Overfiend is already present, Sheriff returns the items and tells you to wait.

Thought Horror Overfiend

Thought Horror Overfiend is the Fiend-King finale of The Deep Upside Down. The fight has several scripted gates.

At spawn, Overfiend starts melee immune and starts the balance monitor. Shortly after combat begins, it checks for at least two real player attackers. If that check fails, it depops.

At 50%, the mirrored host despawns and Overfiend continues toward the vessel phase.

When Demogorgon dies, it signals Overfiend to unlock. Overfiend becomes attackable again, but spell damage remains blocked until the next phase.

Overfiend Drops

Thought Horror Overfiend adds Upside Down Lunar Moonlight directly to its loot and can add a second copy.

Its reward table includes the upside-down moon set and chase items, including Moon Wave Spash UD, UD Waist of Moon Strand, The Moon's Shadow, The Moon's Heart, Voidless Thunder, Voidless Aggro, Nodule of the Void, Harbinger of Velious, Urn of Moon Space, Hammer of the Gods, Runestone of the Spirits, Glowing Orb of Luclinite, and the shared Deep named table.

Practical Route

Use A Syrupy Ego Waffle out of combat, create The Deep Upside Down with Eleven, and say ready. Stay together for Sel Rheza's opening and the moving blights. Work the rotating mini-bosses one at a time, saving all four Sheriff Hopper keepsakes.

For Overfiend, assign damage carefully during the 85% balance phase, be ready to move immediately at the 45% Demogorgon vessel spawn, and save mobility/cooldowns for the 2% final chase. The fight is less about raw damage and more about responding to the timers without letting the encounter reset.
